West Vancouver students in kindergarten to Grade 12 are invited to create an original video for a chance to win the top prize of $750.
Students are challenged to create a 60 to 90-second video based on the theme of this year’s contest—We can Green Can!
We want students to think about the importance of using the Green Can at home or at school to help keep food scraps out of the landfill.
Videos can include tips to help make using the Green Can easy, what does and doesn’t belong in the Green Can, how to prevent your Green Can from becoming a snack for a hungry bear, or ways to reduce food waste in the first place.
Get creative and make a musical about mouldy bread, a horror about a methane gas monster, or a stop-motion about reusing the leftovers.
The deadline for submissions is Friday, April 16, 2021
This year’s contest is sponsored by Waste Control Services.
