Environment Canada has confirmed that a Tornado occurred at the University of British Columbia (UBC) on Saturday, November 6.
Environment Canada received reports of hail, wind, rain and a tornado. In collaboration with The Northern Tornadoes Project, the agency conducted an on-site storm damage survey.
Preliminary storm assessment suggested the tornados time to be at 5:10 pm, at the UBC near University Golf Club.
Broken trees, scattered tree debris, downed power lines, and tree damage to vehicle was observed.
The estimated wind speed was from 90 to 110 km/h. Environment and Climate Change Canada meteorologists are seeking pictures or videos of the event and any resulting damage.
