The Government of BC is declaring a public health emergency as it confirmed 83 new cases today, and announced three more deaths from COVID-19.
There are 186 patients in the province so far, and seven of them have died. The two deaths recorded today were connected to Lynn Valley Care Home in North Vancouver.
The third death is of a man in his 80s in the Fraser Health Region.
Dr. Bonnie Henry, the provincial health officer, said all restaurants in the province must move to takeout only, and bars will be closed as it is difficult for them to impose the two metre rule.
Businesses that remain open must incorporate the social distancing requirements.
