According to Environment Canada, there is considerable uncertainty regarding the duration of this hot spell, and heat warnings may be issued if the high temperatures continue. Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and weather alerts for updates. Environment and Climate Change Canada’s WeatherCAN app provides access to current weather forecasts.
Health and Safety Tips
Residents should be vigilant for signs of heat-related illnesses, including heavy sweating, rash, cramps, fainting, high body temperature, and worsening of pre-existing health conditions. Key safety tips include:
- Never leave people or pets in parked vehicles.
- Seek cool places such as shaded areas, swimming pools, showers, or air-conditioned public buildings.
