From November 4 to December 6, the Stanley Park seawall between Third Beach and Prospect Point will be closed as crews remove dead trees affected by the hemlock looper moth infestation.
A helicopter will assist with removing and transporting felled trees from the cliffs above the seawall between November 14 and December 7. The helicopter operations will run during daylight hours, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., under the City’s noise control by-law. For safety, the Prospect Point café parking lot will be closed, and Stanley Park Drive will have intermittent 15-minute closures between the Causeway off-ramp and the Prospect Point picnic area.
In addition to tree removal, the Park Board will conduct its annual slope stabilization and maintenance near Siwash Rock throughout November. Crews will secure rock slabs and remove unstable materials to help reduce future disruptions and enhance public safety. During the closure, detours will be in place for bikers, walkers, and other seawall visitors.
