The community is invited to join North Shore artist Riitta Peirone and the staff of MLA Susie Chant’s Community Office for a reception and showing of Riitta’s work on Friday February 24, from 5 to 6:30 pm.
The Community office is in Lynn Valley Village, at #217, 1233 Lynn Valley Road. Riitta’s paintings will be on display and light refreshments will be available.
Riitta’s work can also be viewed through the month of March during community office business hours, Monday to Friday, 10 am to 5 pm. Riitta Peirone graduated from Sheridan College of Art and Design in Ontario. She began her career in Educational Publishing as a book designer and illustrator. Always keen to travel, she spent time in Italy studying art.
In 1986, Riitta discovered the beauty of the West Coast and made the move to Vancouver to free-lance as a graphic artist. Her home on the North Shore is an inspiration for many of her paintings, as well as her travels near and far. While drawing had always been a part of Riitta’s life, the decision to be a full-time painter is now a full-time passion.
