A person suffering a mental health crisis on the Stawamus Chief was talked out of suicide and brought back to safety by Squamish RCMP officers.
Several Squamish RCMP members hiked to the first peak of the Chief after they received a call about the person suffering a mental health crisis.
At the top of the peak, officers encountered an individual in a mental health crisis and a civilian who was trying to help.
After over four hours of dialogue, the suicidal person was apprehended under the Mental Health Act, Squamish RCMP said.
That individual was then taken to the hospital and is being treated there.
