A 25-year-old woman from North Vancouver woman was identified as the victim of a fatal stabling that took place last month near a mall in Burnaby.
Melissa Blimkie was fatally stabbed outside a parkade near the Metropolis at Metrotown Walmart. The tragic incident happened around 11:40 am on December 19.
IHIT took charge of the investigation and have now charged her boyfriend, 31-year-old, Everton Downey with second-degree murder. “This is an unimaginable loss for the friends and family of Melissa,” said IHIT spokesperson Sgt. David Lee.
IHIT today released a photo of Melissa Blimkie and have asked people who may have any information to come forward.
