On June 2nd, 2024, at approximately 5:55 p.m., the North Vancouver RCMP responded to a report of a cyclist struck by a vehicle. Fire crews and paramedics attended the scene and treated the injured cyclist. The cyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a grey 2006 Pontiac Pursuit was leaving a parking lot near West 1st Street and MacKay Road when it struck the cyclist. Impaired driving has been ruled out, but the investigation continues as evidence is gathered leading up to the collision.
“Police are aware that there were several witnesses on scene who attended to the aid of the cyclists when the incident occurred,” said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. “Those witnesses, unfortunately, left the scene before police arrival, and we are asking them to come forward and provide a statement.”
Anyone who witnessed or has dash cam video of the collision and has not spoken to police is asked to contact the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file 24-12966.
