The Tesla driver allegedly followed the victim until the victim pulled over. The suspect then exited his vehicle and reportedly struck the victim in the face with a baton. Shortly after, the suspect fled northbound on Harbour Avenue. The victim, a man in his 70s, sustained significant injuries to his face, resulting in the loss of several teeth.
The suspect is described as a heavy-set South Asian man in his 30s. He drove a black Tesla Model 3 with black rims and red calipers.
Investigators conducted an extensive neighbourhood canvass and have since located CCTV video of the alleged assault, said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. Investigators are releasing CCTV images of the suspect and the vehicle in hopes that someone will recognize the suspect and call the police. We are also hoping that the alleged suspect in this assault does the right thing and comes forward to provide their version of the events.

Dear Sir,
I hope the perpetrator of this heinous uncalled for crime is apprehended and brought to justice soon for aggravated assault.
What a cowardly thing to do to a senior , or anyone for that matter.
Nothing warrants that sort of vicious response.

I sincerely hope the police catch this person.
What a despicable act.
This type of road rage is increasing – Chesterfield in North Vancouver
is a good example. I have pulled over several times while travelling
to appointments due to people tailgating. Reducing size of auto lanes to
accommodate more cycling routes and massive construction projects underway
all over the city and District do nothing to solve this problem.

I’m not surprised something like this would happen. Drivers are more angry and aggressive than i have seen in 40 years of driving. Tesla’s and other electric vehicles speed over the speed limit constantly. Where is the enforcement of these speed limits? I hope he is caught.

First off, their is no excuse for violence. Losing teeth because of another persons rage is just so wrong and the responsible ass needs to turn himself in and face the consequences.
That aside, with evermore densification, horrendous traffic jams, coupled with seemingly tone deaf government running things, then add in armchair traffic engineers tossing around terms such as “induced demand” as reason to not attempt road network improvement, all whilst the cycle zealots keep up the squeeze – even where not required -or worse still, redundant (think Grand Blvd -west side, north bound), is it any wonder that people are at whit’s end and loose cannons go off?
Seems to me that things really are broken and the blame truly does start and is largely owned by our government in Ottawa, but it also carries on down the line to all those who are pro density, more high-rises, more housing, without a thought of infrastructure, of the downsides to too much, too quickly.
We had it nice, we could have kept it nice, but we threw it away. What fools are we.
