Of the 79 tickets issued, 46 were specifically for the use of a cell phone while driving. During this enforcement, one person received a 90-day Immediate Roadside Prohibition for impaired driving. “These enforcement efforts highlight the ongoing risks of distracted and impaired driving on our roads,” North Van RCMP tweeted.
Last week, one driver whom officers pulled over for using a cell phone was found driving without insurance and with an expired license. The driver was fined over $1,200.
This should happen regularly, it may force people think twice and take responsibility for their actions.
