A motorcyclist was killed late Wednesday night in a single-vehicle collision on Marine Drive, police have confirmed. The accident occurred around 11:23 pm. in the 5500 block of Marine Drive as three motorcyclists travelled westbound.
The lead rider lost control and crashed. Emergency responders, including BC Emergency Health Services, the West Vancouver Fire Department, and the West Vancouver Police Department, arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance for approximately 45 minutes. Despite their efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) has been called in to investigate the cause of the crash.
The West Vancouver Police Department has expressed condolences to the victim’s family and friends and is appealing for additional information. “As this incident occurred late at night with no witnesses, we are asking anyone with relevant video footage or information to contact us at 604-925-7300 and quote file #24-10558,” said Sgt. Chris Bigland.
