Michael Charrois has announced that he will seek the federal New Democrat’s nomination in Burnaby North-Seymour.
Michael has long-standing ties to the community, is a Union of British Columbia Performers and Canadian Actors’ Equity Association member, and is a theatre arts instructor for Burnaby’s Shadbolt Centre Community Programs.
“Every day, I hear from people in our community who are struggling to keep up. They’re working hard but can’t find an affordable, safe place to live,” said Charrois. “As an NDP candidate, I will fight to build affordable homes and lower the cost of living for families. We’re facing challenging times; people want to see action. But the Liberals have let people in Burnaby North – Seymour down, and Pierre Poilievre and the cut-and-gut Conservatives are trying to cut programs like health care, child care and pensions. New Democrats won’t let that happen.”
Michael has been the President of the North Vancouver- Seymour BC NDP Electoral District Association since 2017. As well as continuing his work in film/TV and theatre, Michael has deep ties to the community, and knowledge of the issues locals face, having worked in a local MLA’s community office.
“Canada and our community need strong leaders who are focused on protecting working people, especially as we face threats of tariffs from Donald Trump – that’s why I’m seeking the NDP nomination in Burnaby North-Seymour,” added Charrois. “The NDP is standing up to Trump threats and Poilievre’s planned cuts that will hurt working-class people. The NDP fought for better health care and is now delivering dental and pharmacare so that people aren’t paying out of pocket. New Democrats are fighting to get real people more; they’re not protecting billionaire CEOs; that’s the team that I want to fight alongside.”
