Lynn Blocke has been nominated as a BC Conservative Candidate for West Vancouver-Capilano. In a press release, the party said Lynn has listened to the concerns of North Shore citizens and is committed to addressing those in Victoria.
“Those who know Lynne understand her diligent and action-oriented approach to help build a safe, caring, prosperous North Shore which all citizens can enjoy. This is why Lynne is running for MLA in West Vancouver-Capilano with the Conservative Party of British Columbia,” the party said in a press release.
Lynne’s diverse career in education spans teaching, training and facilitating professional development at the Elementary, Secondary and Post-Secondary levels.
She developed new and innovative programs and founded and facilitated Youth Engaged in Social Responsibility Forums. With a BA and a Master of Education Administration from UBC, Lynne co-founded a business and education consulting company focused on research-based learning, corporate social responsibility, and collaborative leadership.
Lynne is now serving her second term as an elected School Trustee in the West Vancouver School District, where her focus is on improving student
outcomes and ensuring fiscal responsibility.
Community Involvement
Lynne has been a North Shore Youth Justice and Family Court Committee board member and the British Columbia United Nations Representative for Women Educators International. Over the years, Lynne has been involved with the Canadian Cancer Society, British Columbia Paraplegic Society, West Vancouver Awards Committee, West Vancouver Community Engagement Committee, Dixon House, WV Library, Harambee Canada, North Shore Toastmasters, Violence Against Women In Relationships, Emergency Preparedness Program, Block Watch, Streamkeepers, Feed the Need, and Sharing Abundance. More recently, Lynne is involved with the West Vancouver Place For Sport, the Coho Society and the Dundarave Festival of Lights which supports the Lookout Society.
Lynne is also the recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence as well as the Coinspiracy and KindActs Awards.
