North Vancouver RCMP has announced a significant seizure of drugs and weapons following a lengthy investigation into suspected drug trafficking.
The investigation began in September 2024 after RCMP front-line officers observed suspicious activities consistent with drug trafficking at a residence in the 900 block of Lynn Valley Road. Community reports further raised concerns, prompting an in-depth probe.
On November 1, after several months of investigation, officers executed a search warrant at the residence with assistance from the Investigative Support Team and the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team. As a precaution, a nearby school was placed on “hold and secure” during the operation.
Five suspects, aged 35 to 48, were arrested during the operation. Three remain under police investigation, and charges are being prepared for submission to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada. Two children were also found inside the residence.
The search uncovered substantial amounts of drugs, firearms, cash, and stolen items tied to other investigations. Items seized included: One kilogram of heroin, 3.6 kilograms of synthetic cannabinoids, 295 grams of furanylfentanyl, 205 grams of methamphetamine, three grams of cocaine, four kilograms of caffeine, three handguns, one rifle and a sawed-off shotgun.
“This successful operation underscores the vital role that community partnerships and intelligence-led policing play in ensuring the safety and well-being of North Vancouver residents,” said Constable Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. “The collaboration between community members and our frontline officers has been instrumental in tackling the challenges of harmful drugs. Today’s results testify to the dedication, commitment, and teamwork required to create a safer environment for everyone.”
