First Responders in Coquitlam are coordinating efforts to locate a homeowner after a mudslide washed away a house in a flood that created havoc in communities across BC.
On Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. Coquitlam RCMP Frontline officers responded to a mudslide report along Quarry Road in Coquitlam. One home was washed away as a result of the mudslide and the home owner is unaccounted for. No further information will be provided as police liaise with the family.
Quarry Road between Calgary Drive and MacIntyre Road will remain closed as search efforts continue, said Media Relations Officer, Corporal Alexa Hodgins. Due to the mudslide, Quarry Road is unpassable, affecting several residents on the other side of the slide.
