From public art and light installations to community events, the City of North Vancouver is creating festive feeling by animating public spaces and partnering with community organizations to offer something for everyone.
Residents are invited to check out the following seasonal events continuing throughout the holidays:
Holiday Light Experience December – January
Stroll through The Shipyards holiday light displays, including the twinkling lights on The Pier, Wallace Mews and the iconic crane.
Centennial Theatre
Throughout December
A variety of festive concerts and performances are taking place at Centennial Theatre during the month of December. Visit nvrc.ca for the calendar for events and to purchase tickets.
Living Lane Light & Art Installation
December – January 1
The City’s Play team has partnered with North Van Arts and artist Otilia Spantulescu to animate Living Lane Alley, located between 100 and 130 Lonsdale Avenue with a temporary art and cozy lighting. Learn more about this space at cnv.org/livinglane.
The Shipyards Skate Plaza
December – February
Enjoy a visit to the City’s 12,000 square foot, free public Skate Plaza at The Shipyards, open daily from 1-8 p.m. Enjoy live music on the weekends with the following performers:
December 10 – Angelus Singers, 6–8:00 p.m.
December 11 – Merry and Bright Jazz trio, 1:30-2:30 p.m.
December 17 – Caminando Carolers, 6–8 p.m.
December 18 – Angelus Singers, 6–8 p.m.
December 24 – Angelus Singers, 6–8 p.m.
Seasonal Singing in Civic Plaza
Thursdays until December 16, 12-1:30 p.m.
Musicians performing at the Plaza Deck on Thursdays in December, from 12-1:30pm. Music is rain or shine, and free.
Fire Department Toy Drive
Until December 18
North Vancouver City Fire Department is collecting new, unwrapped toys for the holiday season. Drop off toys at the City Fire Hall until December 18th. Find more details on the City’s community calendar at cnv.org/communitycalendar.

We’ve got some festive pop up performances happening around the City this holiday season. It’s all part of PLAY, our placemaking program that animates the City’s public spaces.

Holiday Crafts & Music in Civic Plaza Thursday, December 9, 12-2 p.m.
Bring the kids to Civic Plaza to make crafts including decorations and ornaments, as well as enjoy holiday music, hot chocolate and coffee. Brought to you by the City’s PLAY team, North Vancouver City Library and the United Way.
Burrard Yacht Club ‘Festival of Lights’
December 11, 6 p.m.
Watch brightly lit yachts sail by Waterfront Park and Lonsdale Quay.
Merry and Bright Holiday Concert
December 16, 6 – 9:30 p.m.
Enjoy holiday sounds by Capilano University students in Shipbuilder’s Square. Admission is by donation to support the Boys & Girls Club.
Holiday Skate Performance
December 23, 6 p.m.
Artssa Skating Academy presents Christmas with Ginji; holiday performance begins at 6 p.m. with free skate lessons and photos with Ginji to follow.
A Christmas Story & Caroling
December 24, 4:30pm
Join CapChurch Christmas Carol Sing and Christmas Story Time at 4:30 p.m. in Shipbuilders’ Square.
New Years Eve at The Shipyards Skate Plaza
December 31, 6-8 p.m.
