A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched to support local 15-year-old Caileigh Koppang, who is in critical condition following a serious mountain biking accident on October 17. Caileigh sustained serious injuries, including spinal trauma, a diffuse axonal brain injury (DAI), a dissected carotid artery, and multiple brain bleeds.
She is currently in a coma, relying on a ventilator as she fights for her life.
“The road to recovery will be challenging, with extensive rehabilitation and support required for both her immediate and long-term needs,” said Marie-Helene Harrisson, a family friend who organized the fundraiser. “No contribution is too small. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement helps.”
Funds raised will cover medical expenses, rehabilitation, and long-term care to help the North Vancouver teen regain as much independence and quality of life as possible.
