A staff member at the Shoppers Drug Mart at 3260 Edgemont Boulevard in North Vancouver was recently tested positive for COVID-19.
The individual, however, hasn’t been in the store since April 22, said Catherine Thomas, the senior director of external communication at the company.
“We are reaching out to the local public health team and have taken a number of steps to minimize risk, including increased sanitization protocols and enforcing social distancing practices in the store,” she said.
Thomas said the store was closed overnight for a thorough cleaning and has since reopened. Additionally, team members who worked closely with this individual are now at home in self-isolation, monitoring for any symptoms, she added.
Shoppers Drug Mart has also reached out to VCH to investigate the team member’s recent shifts and direct contacts. Shoppers has also instructed any potentially exposed team members to stay home and self-isolate.
The company said it is notifying customers who recently visited the store.

Hard to contact customers who either did not make a purchase or paid by cash. Social distance protocols should have been in place – and not as an after-thought.

I went to shopper 1 month and asked the cashier in cosmetic department why not wear a mask and she said , only dick people should wear a mask.
All cashiers should be wearing mask cause they are exposed to many people on daily basis .
