BC Government has designated two locations in North Vancouver for COVID-19 testing.
Testing is now being used to quickly identify and address any new community clusters and outbreaks that may have emerged.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms can now be assessed and tested through a physician, nurse practitioner or a local community collection centre.
In North Vancouver there are two locations where people can go for testing: Lions Gate Hospital or the Urgent and Primary Care Centre at 221 West Esplanade.
Both locations are open to the public, health care workers and first responders, and walk-ins are accepted. The testing will be done at first come first serve, and staff and first responders are asked to come to the site and register.
Those going for the test may be asked to wait outside before the test and are asked to dress appropriately for the weather.
Public health officials will contact those who test positive for COVID-19. People can also call 8-1-1 to find the nearest centre.
