City of North Vancouver is warning residents about a significant impact to traffic in a city block next week.
On February 4 and 5, from 6 am to 12 pm, a contractor hired by Cascadia Green will erect a crane at 422 East 3rd Street. This work must be done from East 3rd and will result in significant impacts to traffic on East 3rd Street and the surrounding local streets during construction hours.
On these dates, general traffic will be detoured as follow:
Westbound traffic: right turn at St Davids, left turn at East 4th Street, left turn at St Patricks Avenue, right turn at East 3rd Street
Eastbound traffic: right turn at St Patricks, left turn at East 2nd Street, left turn at St Davids Avenue, right turn at East 3rd Street
A second regional detour will be in place at St Georges Avenue, Queensbury Avenue, and the Low Level Road. Traffic control personnel will be present to assist detouring vehicles.
Pedestrian access will be maintained on the south side of East 3rd Street, but during construction hours, parking will be restricted on the north and south sides of East 3rd Street as well as the 200 block of St Davids Avenue and the 300 block of St Patricks Avenue.
